Air Tours over Toronto & Niagara Falls

Can I request for a non alcoholic drink instead of the champagne?
Yes, please request this in the special request section of your booking.

Is there a weight limit per person or per couple?
Yes, we cannot accept individuals over 250lbs due to weight considerations of the aircraft. For private tours, the combined weight per couple is 400lbs.

How many seats are there on each aircraft type?
Our Piper Warrior, used for private tours, can seat 2-3 passengers depending on passenger weight.
Our Airvan 8, used for both the Niagara Falls and 100KM City Tours, can seat 6 passengers.

What is the approximate time of the city tour?
The 100km scenic tour is approximately 30 minutes from engine start to engine shutdown. The time between take off and landing is 20 minutes. Don’t forget planes fly much faster than cars drive! You will see a lot and the views are amazing.

Under what circumstances would my flight be cancelled?
A flight or booking may be cancelled with up to 2 hours prior notice. This would be do to either a mechanical issue or weather. See below for weather minimums for each type of flight. The ceiling and visibility must be a certain amount for us to legally and safely conduct aerial tours. This is dictated to us by the Air Traffic Control Tower and Transport Canada and therefore out of our control. Your flight cannot be cancelled or refunded if this happens, but we will reschedule your flight to a new convenient date and time of your choice.

Scenic Tours over Toronto and Niagara Falls: Ceiling 2500′ AGL, 5 NM / 9 km visibility, and no thunderstorms or freezing precipitation within 35km of the airport.

Are there any age restrictions for children?
We do not have any age restrictions, we require that children must be able to sit on the seat unassisted, and have the seat belt on safely, and be accompanied by an adult in case of an onboard emergency.

What exactly is the time stated on my booking/ticket? When do we depart and when must we arrive?
The time of your booking is the time of departure. You must arrive 15 minutes before your flight. It is recommended to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure to properly check-in, use the washroom, and grab a coffee or tea.

What if I’m late?
We recommend arriving at the terminal 30 minutes prior to your reservation to check in. Due to scheduling and convenience for the other passengers, we always strive to leave on time. If it is a private charter flight or private plane, we will do our best to accommodate you depending on any flights that may be booked afterwards. Please let us know if you will be late and we can try to compensate.

What happens if I’m late?
In order to keep on schedule and enure that the other passengers fly on time, unfortunately, we will be required to fly with empty seats. we cannot refund your payments, as we will not be able to fill the seats with other passengers at such late notice. If the tickets were purchased through a third party, any vouchers will be redeemed. (Note: this will be done also for those who do not show up for a scheduled flight without prior notice.)

How many seats are there on each aircraft type?
Our Piper Chieftain can seat 8 passengers.
Our Airvan 8 seats 6 passengers.

How much baggage can I bring?
You are permitted to take one personal article such as a purse, camera bag, brief case, or laptop bag per person (max dimensions of 16 cm x 33 cm x 43 cm).

For an additional $10, you may bring an airline carry-on sized item  (max dimensions of 23 cm x 40 cm x 55 cm) with a maximum weight of 20 pounds.

For an additional $25, you may bring an airline style suitcase (61 cm x 42 cm x 28 cm) or specialty items such as folding bikes and golf bags. However, depending on the flight, we may not be able to accommodate large or specialty items due to space and weight limitations. We do not issue refunds for baggage exceeding this limit or not being able to accommodate specialty items so please inquire with us.

Pets count as a suitcase and would cost $25. Pets that cannot be held in your lap must be in a cage to avoid affecting other passengers in the case of allergies.

How can I make a reservation if I have purchased a voucher from a third party?
Booking instructions are always listed on the type of flight you are reserving for. The taxes and any surcharges remain and must be paid to complete your reservation.

FlyGTA understands that our scheduled service is a valuable time saving tool in order to attend meetings or catch connecting flights in a time-efficient manner. We strive to get our passengers to their destination as fast as possible. In the case of poor weather in which we must cancel a flight, passengers will be notified in advance. We will provide our ground transport shuttle between the airports, but we will leave earlier in order to arrive at the destination airport at the same time as if flown. If weather or maintenance issues force us to cancel a flight as outlined above, the option will be given to either refund your ticket or use our ground transportation.

What is the maximum amount of seats per party? How do group bookings work?
Groups of 4 or more passengers may be cancelled due to load factors such as passenger weight, demand, and baggage quantity. However, we do offer custom charter flights for groups and those flights are flexible in departure times and dates. We try to preserve seats on our scheduled routes for individuals, couples, or lightly loaded groups as larger groups can impact other passengers. Please inquire via phone or email.

 

 Cancellations & Refunds

How do I know if my flight is cancelled or confirmed?
If your flight is cancelled, we will be in touch by email or phone as soon as we can. We will do our best to give as much notice as possible, however keep in mind that sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances cancellations can happen at very short notice. Please check your email for any updates before heading to the airport.

Can I get a refund?
All tickets and tours are refundable until 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight or tour. Within 48 hours prior to the flight, they are non refundable.

However, there is a 10% admin fee applied to any refund. You will receive a refund of 90% of the ticket or tour value.

You may reschedule a flight at any time with 48 hours prior notice. There is no admin fee applied to rescheduling.

Tickets and tours are transferable. With advance notification, you may transfer your ticket or tour to another name.

If you book a flight or tour with a groupon voucher code, but did not actually purchase a groupon, you are not entitled to a refund. We will only honour voucher codes and groupons that are paid for, valid, and that have been entered, at the time of booking.

If your flight is rescheduled due to weather, the original flight booking and new flight bookings cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Gift Cards are not refundable.

If you miss your flight or are late, you cannot get a refund.

Membership Plans & Flight Passes

What are the prices of the flights
Prices can vary. Individual tickets cost $99 including taxes and fees.

Is there a membership option or pre-pay plan?
We offer individual membership plans for our Niagara-Toronto routes with pricing that starts at $2,950 per month providing unlimited travel on our routes with certain conditions. This will apply to all our future routes as well.
We also offer corporate membership plans with additional perks starting at $3,450 per company.

Can I buy flight passes in order to get a discount?
Yes, we have flight pass options for 25, 50, and 100 passes paid up front. These are specific to our commuter routes such as Niagara-Toronto.

How can I book flights using flight passes or the membership plan?
Once you purchase a membership plan or buy flight passes, you will get a voucher code customized to your plan which will allow you to book. The cost at checkout through the website would be $0.

Arriving at the Airport

How do I get to Hangar 6?
Directions are posted on our website at www.flygta.com/contact. You will find a map that will show you exactly where you need to go, including the parking lot.

Can I park on the Island?
Yes! Stolport Corporation, the official parking provider for all on-site parking at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, offers customers of FlyGTA a discount on parking! The cost is only $22.00 tax inc. for 2hrs of parking on the island, including the ferry fee! (The regular rate is $35.00 tax inc.) Simply show proof of your booking/flight with FlyGTA at the ferry gate and the discount will be applied.

How much is parking on the two parking lots across the airport (main land)?

How can I get to the airport via public transit?
The airport offers a complimentary shuttle bus from Union Station next to the Royal York Hotel. Look for the signs and bus with the Air Canada and Porter Logos. You can access Union Station via the UP Express from Pearson Airport, the TTC, or GO Transit.

In addition, the TTC Streetcars along Queens Quay and Bathurst will take you within a few minutes walk of the Airport.
